Outrage as BBNaija Star Phyna’s Sister Loses Leg in Truck Accident Amid Allegations of Police Concealment

A serious road accident in Auchi, Edo State, has sparked public outrage after Otabor Bodon Ruth, the younger sister of Big Brother Naija Season 7 winner Josephina “Phyna” Otabor, lost her left leg and remains at risk of further amputation.

The incident occurred near Auchi Polytechnic just six days after Ruth’s graduation. Witnesses allege that a heavy-duty truck, reportedly linked to the Dangote Group, struck her before the driver attempted to flee. A lecturer who saw the collision reportedly pursued and caught the driver.

Phyna, visibly distraught, took to Instagram to accuse both the truck’s owners and the police of obstructing justice. She alleged that officers removed the vehicle’s license plate and prevented her family from accessing the truck, which remains in police custody. “Na money you get, you no be God. But my God is bigger. Enough is enough,” she wrote.

Actress Kate Henshaw also condemned the handling of the case, claiming that despite the vehicle being impounded, authorities have restricted access to it and to key information. She called for swift action, warning that Ruth’s second leg could soon be lost if her condition worsens.

Social media activist VeryDarkMan shared a video from JETU Hospital, showing Ruth in critical condition with severe injuries to her head, hands, and remaining leg. He accused the Dangote Group and the police of prioritizing the protection of the truck and its driver over the victim’s welfare.

Public calls for accountability have intensified, with supporters demanding that those responsible face legal consequences and that the investigation remain transparent. As of press time, neither Aliko Dangote nor the Dangote Group has issued an official response to the allegations.
